Outreach Coordinator Elena Cawley
Elena Cawley serves as outreach coordinator for the Coffee County Children’s Advocacy Center. Elena creates and implements multimedia communications to inform the community about the center’s services and programs, aiming to end child abuse. Elena assists with fundraising initiatives supporting the center’s operations. Elena is also responsible for organizing and conducting child abuse prevention programs, empowering children and adults to recognize child abuse, spot red flags and respond appropriately.
“I love showing the positive impact the Coffee County CAC has on the community. The center’s employees and partners work to end child abuse in Coffee County. They believe every child deserves to be safe, healthy and happy,” Elena said. “Everyone at the center has a passion about preventing trauma and providing healing to children and families. I love being part of a team with a common goal, which is a community free of child abuse. Thanks to the dedication of Coffee County CAC’s employees, partners and donors, the center takes steps every day to move closer to its final destination: a place without child abuse. One of my favorite aspects of this role is the opportunity to develop and conduct education programs, which provide the necessary tools and knowledge to help prevent child abuse.”
Elena earned her bachelor’s degree in public relations and master's degree in media and communications from Middle Tennessee State University. Prior to joining the Coffee County CAC, Elena served as writer and editor for newspapers in Manchester and Tullahoma. She has written about a wide range of topics, including child abuse prevention and domestic violence prevention.
